H&M Beauty: Raspberry Leaf & Witch Hazel Face Masks Review

So today I'm writing about the Raspberry Leaf and Witch Hazel H&M face masks. I received them both at Christmas and I thought I'd a little review on each because they are a little different than usual face masks that you can pick up for a couple of pounds.

First of all I love the packaging of these, they're so cute and fun looking. They are kind of like a little yogurt pot and you can get 2-3 applications from each pot. I'm a complete sucker for packaging. I love anything that's looks quirky and unique.

Raspberry Leaf - Combination Skin

I tried the Raspberry Leaf one first. I will admit I tend to steer clear from peel off masks usually. Just because I find they aren't as good as clay based masks and also they tend to be very messy and sticky. I still thought I'd give it a go, especially as it's aimed at combination skin, which my skin type is. So I applied this like any other face mask, the smell was quite nice and refreshing but then... it started stinging really bad! But I thought I'd leave it a few more minutes and just see if it's just doing it's thing. Then the stinging got worse so I had to remove it fast. Literally about half an hour after using it, I broke out really bad and my skin went all pink/red. It was not a good look! Obviously I'd had a allergic reaction. What a great start! lol. But just because this one didn't work for me, it doesn't mean that it won't work for you. But if you have quite sensitive skin then I'd probably not try this one in particular... just in case!

Witch Hazel - Oily Skin

I was a little apprehensive about trying this mask after my reaction to the Raspberry Leaf one. But I felt like trying a different face mask because I seem to be hoarding a lot right now, so I chose this one. Thankfully this one was a whole lot different. This one is a clay mask and I left it on for around 10 minutes and it didn't sting at all. (yay!) It doesn't smell like the usual Witch Hazel smell, which I sometimes find to be quite overpowering. It smells more floral which is kind of weird considering it contains witch hazel, rosemary and tea leaf. My skin felt so smooth and squeaky clean after using this one as well. Definitely will be buying a few of these!

If you're interested in trying these face masks yourself then here's the link to see these and other ones available.

So there's what I thought about the two H&M Face Masks I've tried so far.
Have you tried these face masks? What did you think?

  1. That's so awful that you had an allergic reaction to one of them, but I'm glad that at least the other did work and was good to you. I really want to try these after reading this!

    1. I know! was so annoyed at my skin but the witch hazel one is really good. My skin looked so much brighter and clearer the day after I used it as well. And I've just had a little browse on H&M and there is free standard delivery and 10% off until 22/1 :) x

    1. They are good, will be trying more (but will be avoiding the peel off masks I think lol) And yeah I'm fine now, thank you. Did take a few days for my skin to calm down though x

  3. They do look like little yogurts! I didn't know H&M had face masks. I'll probably steer clear of the Raspberry Leaf because I have sensitive skin and have also had bad reactions to products. I've never tried anything with witch hazel. I've heard it's lovely, so maybe I'll have to pick that one up!

  4. Witch hazel is good for the skin, my cousin always tell me about it and how it works so well. I think I actually want to try it out now. It totally sucked that you had an allergic reaction! Great review post!

  5. I've never heard of H&M face masks, however I'm very intrigued with the Witch Hazel one. My boyfriend is always saying how it's great for spots so it's definitely a face mask I'd love to use. Such a shame you had an allergic reaction, they're horrible!
