A couple of weeks ago I won a giveaway by Alex Silver PR which was really exciting. I won some products from KISS, Leighton Denny and also Joan Collins Timeless Beauty. Because I had recently received the First Base Foundation* to try out and review I thought I'd do a collective roundup review of the Joan Collins Timeless Beauty I've received recently.
Ten Effects Skin Treat & Make-Up Fixer RRP £20
I've only tried this a few times so far but it's nice to use if my skin is feeling quite dry or feels like it just needs some added moisture. I think this would be great for when my skin gets drier in the Winter and also for people with dry, sensitive skin. It's got a really nice, delicate floral scent - it's definitely the nicest scented makeup fixing spray because I find most of the ones I've used basically smell like hairspray.
Swatches - First Base Foundation, Divine Lips Sabine, Divine Lips Helene |
Divine Lips Lipstick in the shades Sabine and Helene RRP £18
I already own the shade Melanie from the Divine Lips range and I love it, so I was excited to see two more of the Divine Lips lipsticks in my giveaway package. Sabine is a gorgeous Reddish-Brown shade, perfect for the Autumn/Winter seasons and the shade Helene looks like it's going to be a vibrant red but it's actually a vibrant pink instead, which I think will be a lovely shade for the Spring/Summer. I really like these lipsticks because they are very moisturising and comfortable to wear. The packaging is gorgeous and very Charlotte TIlbury-esque and photogenic which I'm definitely not complaining about.
First Base Foundation - Cool Extra Fair RRP £25*
I'm going to get straight to the point... this may be a new favourite foundation. First of all the colour match is spot on which is extremely rare for me, I usually have to use my Lightening Drops from The Body Shop because even the palest shades on offer are usually too dark or warm for me. It's also a nice, glowy looking foundation if I'm looking a little tired as this just brightens up my face and makes me look a little more alive. The coverage is good for me, I would say it's medium coverage but it doesn't cover over the redness on my cheeks very well so I tend to just pop a little more on in the areas needed. I also love the packaging, it's a glass bottle with gold in areas and it also comes with a pump and I prefer foundations with a pump. Even though this is on the pricier side for a foundation as I tend to go for drugstore foundations, I would pick this up again in a heartbeat.
I AM WOMAN Skin Silk Body Oil RRP £20
When the weather turns colder, my skin obviously wants more moisture so I do tend to opt for more thicker and more nourishing products like body butters and oils, so I was excited to see this in my giveaway parcel. I love the packaging, it comes in a glass bottle and is just one of those products which look lovely on the side of the bath or just on show somewhere in the bathroom. The scent is so lovely, it's quite an uplifting, classic kind of scent and it lingers for hours after using the oil. The oil also sinks in pretty quickly and my skin feels lovely and soft after using it.
