4 Simple Ways To Beat A Blogging Slump

We've all been there and it sucks. With me when I hit a blogging slump I usually have lots of ideas but I just can't focus and write a post or I've got the motivation to write but I'm stuck for ideas or think the ideas I have at hand aren't very good. As I'm currently writing this I'm just coming out of a pretty bad blogging slump. My health hasn't been the greatest as of lately for various different reasons and I've basically just had a pretty rubbish start to the new year. Because I've been feeling so crap it's been making just not want to write as much as I usually do. Today's post is 4 ways which I find help to boost my motivation for my blog if I've hit a wall. So if you're stuck in a blogging rut right now, I hope these tips help you!

First up is don't force yourself to write if you're really not feeling it. I've tried to force myself to write before and then once I'm out of the blogging slump and attempt to read the post I wrote whilst dealing with a blogging slump I'm just like what the heck? It doesn't make sense, the photos are terrible and there are spelling mistakes galore and so on. So I would definitely say don't force yourself to write and take a few days out and then see how you feel and keep doing that until you feel more "with it".

I also find reading other blog posts by some of my favourite bloggers (even posts I've read before) really helps to inspire me to write and gives me the motivation to write a post. I tend to opt for blogs that are writing about things I'm currently really interested in so right now, I'm really into writing and reading beauty posts but I am trying to inject more lifestyle posts frequently into my blog because I worry people may get bored of the constant beauty content. I've also got a few wishlists posts planned from homeware, fashion and beauty which I'm planning on posting soon. I find wishlist posts are quite easy to do when I'm not in the best blogging frame of mind because it's basically just window shopping and then making it into a blog post lol.

I've recently fallen back in love with Pinterest, I have an on/off love for Pinterest. I'll go months of not using it and then all of the sudden I'll stop up all night pinning DIY hacks and yoga moves, storage space savers and so on. So odd. But searching "blogging tips" or "blog post ideas" on Pinterest may spur on some inspiration.

Lastly, something I find almost always helps to basically give me a kick up the arse and get back into the swing of blogging is buying new bits and bobs for my blog. I usually find buying new blog photo props or even a new product to write about helps to motivate me. I also recently bought my first theme from Pigdig at the end of last year when I was feeling a bit rubbish about my blog and it instantly lifted my mood, weird huh?

So there are my 4 simple tips which I find help me the most when I'm battling a blogging slump. Btw this isn't me saying I'm sick of blogging and I'm thinking of quitting etc. Starting my blog is hands down one of the best things I've ever done for lots of different reasons and sometimes it does get tough or you feel like people who are supposed to support you think you're being naive about blogging for a job but I actually believe in myself (for once haha) and I'm excited to see where my blogging journey takes me in 2018.
