A Glossier Haul + My First Impressions

I recently caved and made my second and erm... third Glossier order a few weeks ago. I really wanted to try out their latest product which claims to basically make your skin super clear and it also has cute packaging... so obviously I couldn't resist. Along with the Solution I decided to pick up a few other products from Glossier which I've been wanting to try out for a while so I thought I'd share what I picked up and also my thoughts so far.

First up is the Solution Exfoliating Skin Perfector which is priced at £19 and as I mentioned above it basically claims to make your skin super smooth and clear within 4 weeks. It contains a 10% blend of three acid actives AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid), BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) and PHA (Polyhydroxy Acid). I am a huge fan of chemical exfoliators and I find they work really well for my skin. But I'll be honest so far this hasn't blown me away like it claims. Since I've been using this I've still been breaking out pretty much every day (which to be fair could be hormone related). But on the flip side my skin does feel super soft and the texture of my skin seems to be slightly smoother on my cheeks but my t-zone is still breaking out like crazy. Some people have complained saying that it burns/stings and also makes their face go red with me I've found that it kind of tingles a little but I experience that with all chemical exfoliating products and it makes my face go slightly pink. But I'm going to do a full-on review in a few weeks time on this because I know people want to know if it's worth the hype so keep your eyes peeled for that post!

I've been wanting to try out the Milky Jelly Cleanser for a while because I've seen so many good reviews and after using my sample I received in my first Glossier order I definitely wanted to get my hands on it ASAP. It smells lovely - floral and fresh is what I would describe it as. Personally, I would say it's not that great as a makeup remover but it's a nice second cleanse, which is how I've been using it. I tend to remove my makeup with my trusty Camomile Balm from The Body Shop and then use the Milky Jelly Cleanser. It makes my skin feel fresh and clean without making my skin feel as if it's been stripped if that makes sense.

I decided to pick up the other Cloud Paint shades available from Glossier because I just love them. In my first Glossier Haul I picked up Dusk and Beam and I definitely use Dusk the most but I think I'm going to use Beam more often in Spring/Summer because of it being a peachy pink shade. In my latest orders, I picked up Puff and Haze. Puff is a bright pink shade which I'm not going to lie - it looks scary when you first squeeze it out of the tube but once you apply it to your cheeks it gives you a lovely fresh pink and it just looks really pretty - perfect for the warmer months. Haze is a little too dark for me so I'm going to have to mix it in with the other shades to make a custom colour so it's probably not one I'm going to repurchase.

Lastly, I decided to pick up the Haloscope Highlighter in Quartz which is the middle shade available. I really liked how this looked on other people because it gives more of a healthy sheen rather than blinding sparkly highlight which I personally prefer right now. It also contains a balm in the middle so that it hydrates your skin a little whilst wearing it. Unfortunately, I've found that it feels kind of tacky once you apply it. So I do like it but I don't think I'm going to be repurchasing it because it is pricey at £19 but I am going to go on the hunt for a dupe because I do like the sheen it gives rather than sparkle.

If you are planning on trying Glossier then you can use my code for 10% off and free delivery here. I would highly recommend - Milky Jelly Cleanser, Cloud Paints and also Boy Brow (which I got in my first Glossier Haul).

  2. The milky jelly cleanser sounds nice! I also use a balm first (ultrabland from lush) so would try this as a second cleanse. I’m also a bit of a sucker for packaging and these are really cute!
