Makeup Revolution are hands down one of my favourite makeup brands of all time. I love that they release new products pretty much weekly (though my bank account doesn't really approve lol), their products are always reasonably priced and always of high quality. Of course, they are cruelty-free too which makes their price range seem even more impressive. I also like how easy their products are to pick up too from Superdrug or Tam Beauty. A few weeks ago they released 6 new shades to the Renaissance Lipstick range and they very kindly sent me 4 of the new shades to try out for myself and today I'm sharing with you my thoughts as well as swatches of the lipsticks I received.
First of all, let's talk about the gorgeous packaging, it's very Charlotte Tilbury-esque looking and will look pretty on anyone's makeup table or makeup tidy. I received the shades Blended, Takeover, Highness and Untouched and they are priced at £4 each like the first range of shades which were released last year.
The formula of the lipsticks is quite creamy and they all apply really easily, they don't drag on your lips at all, they just go on with ease. The staying power is good but obviously like all lipsticks you can't put them on and expect them to stay on all day after eating and drinking food throughout the day. But I think for the price of £4 their longevity is really great.
The pigmentation is very impressive, the swatch photos above are just with one swipe of each lipstick.
Onto the shades I received, Blended is a Baby Pink shade that I think I can just about pull off without it washing me out, I like to apply it and then kind of tap and blend it in with my finger so it sheers it out a little. The shade Takeover may look a little scary to some people and I used to be quite scared of purple lipsticks as I thought they wouldn't suit me, but last year whilst having a makeup destash I tried on one from MUA and I really liked how it looked on me so I'm definitely going to wear Takeover often. Highness is a bright pink-red shade which is very pretty and eye-catching and a great shade for the Spring and Summer months and lastly is Untouched which is a gorgeous deep vampy red which really compliments my pale skin and another one I shall definitely be wearing often.
Have you ever tried the Renaissance Lipsticks from Makeup Revolution? If so, what did you think and what shades do you own? I'm definitely going to pick up some of the nude shades to add to my ever-growing lipstick collection because I really like how comfortable these are!
