A few weeks ago I picked up a few things from LUSH but instead of spending a silly amount on bath bombs which I usually cave and do, I decided to only buy a few bath products and pick up a few skincare products as well. I used to love the Dark Angels Cleanser but I think it was a little harsh on my skin so this time around I decided to try out the Let The Good Times Roll Cleanser which contains and smells like Popcorn, so yep - it literally smells like heaven. It's a little gritty but it's nothing like the Dark Angels cleanser, which I think was actually stripping my skin a little. I think Let The Good Times Roll is more for a Dry/Sensitive skin type but it seems to be working really well on my skin and it leaves it feeling super soft and looking quite glowy too.
As well as the Cleanser I also picked up the Tea Tree Spray which was a little risky because I've noticed that a lot of facial sprays seem to break me out. I have no idea why but they just do. But after reading the raving reviews, I decided to pick it up and I'm pleasantly surprised how nice it is. It hasn't made me break out so far and it also isn't a strong Tea Tree smell either so it's a nice facial spray to pop on just to wake your skin up a little if it's feeling a little drab. It's not a game changer but it's refreshing and I like to use it as a toner after cleansing.
I also picked up the Grease Lightning Spot Treatment which I have been wanting to try for a while. Its consistency is very strange as it's kind of jelly-like but I really like the smell and it's also helped to calm down a few hormonal spots that recently popped up. I also like that a little goes a long way so it will last a while.
Last week I kindly received some products from Sukin and I was actually looking into trying them out recently but I was unsure which products would work best for my skin type. They kindly sent me the Oil Balancing Mattifying Facial Moisturiser* and the Oil Balancing + Charcoal Anti-Pollution Facial Masque*. Both containing ingredients such as Rice Powder, Moringa, White Tea and Willowherb. The moisturiser is not too thin nor too thick and it definitely mattifies my T-Zone which is usually my problem area, I also like that it has a pump because I find that moisturisers with pumps are just easier to use and more hygienic. I've also used the face masque twice so far and it's really nice. I don't think it works as well as my holy grail Tea Tree face mask from The Body Shop but I would definitely still recommend it for oily-combination skin types. Also if you're not a fan of tea tree or witch hazel scented products then this range smells lovely - you can definitely smell the white tea and also the pomegranate.
MasqueBAR have also recently released some new sheet masks which are definitely different as they are actually made of foil, yep, you read that right. There are three different foils masks available, each for a different skin concern - There's Rose Gold mask*, Gold mask* and Silver mask. I haven't actually tried the two which I received yet but I shall most likely show what they look like on my insta stories so keep a look out for that lol.
I caved an bought the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion which everyone seems to rave about and I've got to say it hasn't blown me away (yet anyway). People say it's an overnight miracle worker but I put it on a pesky under the skin spot that was literally making me feel as if I had toothache and I woke up the next morning and the spot was still throbbing but the redness had gone down a teeny bit. But I'll keep you updated on it. I'm hoping it does start working for me because it is quite pricey at £16 a bottle.
Lastly in my New In post is the CloudCloth* which comes in a pack of 3. I've only used mine a handful of times so far but I've got to say, I'm impressed. One side is super soft (it literally feels like cotton wool) and the other side exfoliates your skin gently. I tend to use mine when I'm using my Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser or Garnier Micellar Cleansing Gel. Because you receive 3 in a pack, you can have one in use, one ready to be used and one in the wash, which is super handy. It's also obviously better for the environment too and they are so affordable too!
Have you been trying out any new skincare products recently?
*iPR sample, all opinions are my own
I definitely think having a destash and then buying yourself some new products is the way to go! I haven't tried any of the lush skin care, but popcorn scented products sound delicious x
