Dermalogica: Products On Trial | Skinfluencer

I've recently become part of Dermalogica's Skinfluencer programme, which literally made me squeal with excitement when I got the email asking if I would like to get involved in the programme. They kindly sent out a box full of their cruelty-free products which they thought would suit my oily/dry combination skin (yep, I have the most awkward and annoying skin type ever!). They sent over 5 products in total - two of which I know and love already. So in this post I'm going to talk about which products I've loved trying and which I'm still kind of on the fence about.

Let's talk about the two I know I already love and why which are the Precleanse* and the Daily Microfoliant*. The Precleanse is exactly as it's described - it's a gentle cleanser to melt away any makeup or general daily pollution and dirt from the face before you go in with your second cleanse. It smells lovely, I'll even go as far to say it's probably one of the nicest smelling skincare products I've used. You can also buy it in the Precleanse balm formula too if you prefer a balm to remove your makeup. The Daily Microfoliant* can be used on all skin types and conditions. It's made up with a rice-based powder formula and is activated when you add a splash of water. It then releases Papain, Salicylic Acid which sorts out any pesky spots and also Rice Enzymes which exfoliate dead cells. It is a grey-charcoal colour so it sometimes can get slightly messy but it's easy to remove and rise away. I tend to use the Microfoliant about 4 times a week and it definitely instantly makes my skin look brighter and feel softer without feeling as though it's stripped my skin, like the majority of exfoliating products do.

The Special Cleansing Gel* which states is suitable for all skin types is the product I'm kind of on the fence about. Although I think it does a good job at cleansing my skin and making it feel nice and clean. I find it feels slightly greasy on my skin which I don't think helps it when my skin is having more of an oily day or week (especially if my hormones are playing havoc). I've been using it when my skin is feeling a little on the drier side but I've passed it onto my mum who has been loving using it on her dry and sensitive skin. So it hasn't gone to waste!

I was also sent the Skin Smoothing Cream* which I've really been enjoying especially after I've used a clay face mask so I feel like I'm adding some moisture back into my skin and so it doesn't get angry. It's a medium weight moisturiser and suitable for combination/dry skin. It also smooths fine lines and promotes elasticity which is good because I'm getting closer to the age of 25 which is apparently "the age" to start using products for fine lines and anti-ageing in general. I also think it's quite a nice primer to use before applying makeup too.

Lastly is the Skinperfect Primer spf30* which I was really looking forward to trying out as I do love a primer and I do think that a primer can kind of make or break how your makeup looks throughout the day. Whilst I think the Skinperfect Primer is a really nice primer and it adds almost a slight tint to the skin (similar to the Benefit Porefessional) which gives a nice blurring effect. I'm not a huge fan of the "illuminating" aspect of it because it does contain a slight shimmer which I do tend to personally avoid. So I would probably be more of a fan of their Sheer Tint Light offering instead. But it isn't a bad product at all and I love that it contains SPF 30.

Have you tried Dermalogica before? If so, what products and what were your overall thoughts?
