The bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream* has probably been one of my favourite beauty finds this year. I was looking for something with a natural/light coverage that is comfortable to wear and bareMinerals definitely delivered. Whilst it doesn't give a huge amount of coverage, it evens out your complexion nicely and just perks up your skin. I wear it on it's own when I'm having a better skin day and with concealer when I need to cover up dark circles and blemishes and I find that it works fine both ways. I tend to just apply it with my fingers like a moisturiser and then just powder my t-zone as it is quite dewy if it's left on it's own. If you're looking for a tinted moisturiser then I really recommend trying out the Complexion Rescue Gel Cream and you can pick it up for just £19.99 at Fragrance Direct (RRP £29).
My go-to mascara since 2017 has been the L'Oreal Paradise Extatic Waterproof Mascara* because it just works so well with my useless lashes. I've talked about how crap my lashes are time and time again on my blog and yes, I'm doing it again... They're on the shorter side in length and they just don't stay curled for very long. I really want to try Lash Lift but I'm a little worried about someone being so close to my eyes with perming solution if I'm being honest. I do use lash growth serums which help but I still have problems with them staying curled for a long period of time. So when I discovered the Paradise Extatic Mascara* I was amazed at how they made my lashes look. It's supposed to be a dupe to the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara but I actually prefer L'Oreal's version, preferably the waterproof option too.
In the summer I tend to reach for a blusher that gives a glowy effect especially for a minimal makeup look as I find a glowy blush really lifts your complexion and gives you a nice healthy glow. The Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush in Rose De Jaspe* really reminds me of my old fave blusher which is Milani's Luminoso but in a mini version and a bit more pink. It may look small in size but don't be fooled because it even comes with a mirror and a cute little brush which makes it a perfect travel friendly blusher.
I think no matter what season you're in or makeup look you're going for, if you're stuck on what colour to wear on your lips, go for a nude! The Rimmel Provocalips Kiss Proof Lip Colour in Skinny Dipping* is a just a nice standard brown-nude shade which I guess kind of suits everyone really, doesn't it? You can wear it alone as it is a liquid lipstick or you can use the opposite side of the duo to "lock" the colour to make it kiss proof but I'll be honest I think I prefer to wear the lipstick without the "lock" step as it leaves my lips feeling a bit sticky. Although it's a liquid lipstick, I must admit it's really comfortable to wear and doesn't feel drying which is great.
