The first product I'm going to talk about is the Lavender & Cocoa Dry Shampoo (2oz) RRP £13.50*. As I've said in a previous blog post, I'm definitely going through a phase of using chocolate-y smelling products and loving it. The Dry Shampoo may look on the small side for the price but a little really does go a long way with this product and it doesn't leave you with that heavy, powdery feeling like most drugstore dry shampoos do and it obviously doesn't contain any aluminium either(!). On the Live in the Light website, it says to section your hair and apply it with a brush but I just sprinkle it into my roots and then rub it in. Not only does the cocoa smell gorgeous, but it also adds a slight touch of colour so your hair doesn't look dull and powdery. The starch and clay present absorb oil and the lavender essential oil promotes a healthy scalp. Obviously, be careful upon application and make sure you actually aim it into your roots or else you'll end up with powder all over your shoulders but overall, I really like this and I can see myself picking it up again when I run out (which I suspect won't be for a while!).
Next up is the Moon Milk (57ml) RRP £24.50* which is a 2-in-1 product as you can use it as a creamy cleanser as well as a milky moisturiser. It's super gentle and contains rosewater, hemp seed oil, vegetable glycerin, coconut milk powder, hyaluronic acid and elderberry extract. It's also suitable for all skin types. It's kind of a weird consistency and with it being called "Moon Milk" I was expecting something kind of like the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser that I love and have used religiously for around two years now. However, it's more of an oily texture but not quite an oil cleanser but I do like it. I prefer to use it as a cleanser over a moisturiser personally but that's also because I have a lot of moisturisers at hand that I need to use too. It is a nice gentle cleanser and it leaves my skin feeling like it's had a gentle but effective cleanse each time I use it. It does have a very natural smell about it, which isn't a bad thing but it's just something to keep in mind, I'm guessing it's the hemp seed oil and elderberry extract mixed together. I have been enjoying using Moon Milk, I've been using it mostly when I'm having a pamper session or if my skin is feeling particularly sensitive or dry in areas just because it is on the pricier side for the 57ml size. I would treat myself to this in the future but I wouldn't say it's a product I can't live without.
Lastly is Pimple Mud (2oz) RRP £11.50* which I couldn't wait to try as soon as it arrived. I love that it's straight to the point and says this is for your pimples - have fun. Although I'm on the brink of turning 26, I still have quite spot-prone skin so I do like to use a couple of face masks per week to try and calm my skin down. Pimple Mud contains bentonite clay which helps to draw out the contents of the pimple naturally, as well as witch hazel extract and tea tree which both get into your pores and sort everything out and also goldenseal root is great for clearing bacterial issues. I do sometimes react to tea tree/witch hazel products but sometimes I just have to bite the bullet and put the product to the test and this time around it definitely paid off! Pimple Mud has really helped to clear up the reoccurring breakout I've been dealing with on my forehead over the past couple of weeks (which I think is down to both stress and my chocolate consumption, to be honest). I wouldn't use it as a full face mask just because I break out mainly on my t-zone but I will be continuing to use it on any single spots or large breakouts on the t-zone area. I will 100% be picking this up again when I run out!
Overall I've really enjoyed trying out Fat & The Moon and I'm definitely going to have to try out some more products from them soon. I've already got my eyes on their Mermaid Mask which sounds amazing and is another 2-in-1 kind of product, Beam Highlighter which just looks stunning as well as their brand new Balance Shampoo Powder which sounds ideal for my greasy-prone hair!
