My hair is quite awkward as it's basically a jumble of different hair types. I have quite oily roots which is really annoying and dry shampoo is basically my BFF when it comes to hair care, however, the rest of my hair is fairly dry and frizzy.
Because my roots get greasy literally after about a day, I was excited to try The Balayage Shampoo RRP £7.99* as it's described as a lightweight shampoo which purifies greasy, grown out roots yet hydrates mid-lengths and ends. The dual-action formula has key ingredients such as Salicylic acid which helps to restore the scalp's natural balance and doesn't make it feel stripped. The gentle shampoo is aimed at balayage and highlighted hair but I've found that it works well for my hair which is all one colour (dyed). It also smells really fresh and clean which I like, I do find that I have to use a little more shampoo than usual to get a good lather going but it is worthwhile as I do find that I can get another day or two out of my hair when I use this shampoo as opposed to other shampoos I've been using recently.
As I've already said in this post and other blog posts about hair, my roots get quite greasy but the rest of my hair is quite dry and frizzy so The Semi-Permanent Shine Spray RRP £12.99* sounded like a good product to add some shine to my hair whilst also protecting it from heat, humidity and frizz. Even though the directions say to spray liberally, I personally use this quite sparingly just because with my hair being quite thin, I don't like it to look too shiny and I worry that it'll look quite flat and greasy which is not the look I'm going for when I've literally just washed my hair lol. However, I really like how The Semi-Permanent Shine Spray leaves my hair looking and feeling super soft and manageable with a nice amount of shine. You do have to blow dry your hair after spraying it on towel-dried hair to activate the ingredients so if you tend to leave your hair to air dry then this might not be for you but I really like it and I've been reaching for it quite a lot lately. It kind of reminds me of the Colour Wow Dream Coat Supernatural Spray which I'm a big fan of.
I'm definitely impressed with the products I've tried so far and I already have my eye on a few other products in the range such as The Body Building Foam Conditioner which sounds quite unique and The Scalp Scrub which can be used on hair which has product build-up or a flaky scalp.
Have you tried any products from The Hair Boss before?
