Six Products I've Been Testing Out Recently...

thought I’d do a little round-up beauty blog post featuring six products that I’ve been trying out recently, some of which I’ve been using for probably around a month or two now and two of the products are more recent purchases that I’ve bought in desperation for particular reasons. There is a nice mixture of skincare, body care, makeup, and even a nail product thrown in too! So here are the products that I’ve tried and tested recently and whether I’d recommend them or not…

First up is the
Evolve Beauty True Balance SOS Face Mask RRP £20* which sounded right up my street, so I quickly said yes please! when I got the opportunity to try it out. It’s been made to help reduce clogged pores and exfoliate the skin and it’s formulated with Quora Noni which disarms bacteria and stops it from replicating and upsetting the skin’s surface and it also contains White Willow which is a natural form of Salicylic Acid.

First of all, I really like the smell of this face mask, a lot of the time when you buy a natural mask, they can have a very natural, earthy undertone about them which can be a bit off-putting at times but this honestly smells lovely. But then again every face mask I’ve tried by Evolve Beauty has always smelled nice, their Radiant Glow Mask is my fave!

The product itself is very creamy which I wasn’t actually expecting, I was expecting more of a clay-like texture that really dries down but the creamy texture makes it easier to remove with a warm wet face cloth. You only have to leave it on for 5-10 minutes, I always leave my masks on for around 10 minutes, in general, to try and reap the benefits as much as possible and I really think the True Balance SOS mask has helped my skin from producing new spots and I think it also settles any redness and irritation from previous spots that are still healing. So it gets a thumbs up from me!

Another face mask that I’ve tried recently is the
Bybi Beauty Super Greens Purifying Face Mask RRP £20* which I was really looking forward to giving a whirl as I’ve been meaning to try ByBi Beauty for ages. I was sent this in my September Roccabox (FYI - I highly recommend checking out Roccabox, they’re a fab beauty subscription box!).

It reminds me of Tropic’s Clear Skin Mask as it has kind of similar ingredients including Kaolin Clay and Spirulina which draw out impurities and also superfoods Brocolli and Tomato and Jojoba Oil for added moisture goodness. It even looks quite similar but the texture is a lot thinner. It’s a nice mask and I do think it helps with spots, particularly hormonal ones but I think I slightly prefer the Tropic as it’s a little more heavy-duty and works better for my skin type. I think it kind of depends on whether you like a thick or thin face mask really.

Sustainable and cruelty-free brand Typology kindly sent over their
Tinted Concealer RRP £18.90* which is available in 6 shades. I received the lightest shade Fair which I'll be honest, I can only just about get away with once it's blended in, so I wish they would extend the range and maybe add in a few more shades. A little seems to go a long way with this product as it has quite a creamy texture and it gives you a nice amount of coverage and it just kind of just lifts and awakens the under-eye area which is great if you suffer from dark circles like myself. It contains Caffeine, Niacinamide and Cornflower Hydrolate and it can also be used on imperfections but I choose to just use it for my under eye area as I prefer a concealer with slightly more heavier coverage for any pesky spots.

I usually use Dadi’Oil on my nails and cuticles but I spotted the Barry M Argan Nail Shot Nail and Cuticle Oil RRP £3.99 and thought I’d give it a try as I’ve been really enjoying Argan Oil products recently. Unfortunately, I didn’t find it to work as well as my trusty Dadi’Oil. I also expected it to smell really nice like most Argan Oil products do but it literally smells of nothing which was a bit disappointing. It's an okay cuticle oil for the price but I wouldn’t pick it up again.

Moving on to the more recent products I've picked up, I noticed the other week that my eyelashes were looking really sparse, brittle and were just not looking great so I decided to try and find an affordable eyelash serum and came across the
Mylee Enhancing Eyelash Serum RRP £9.99 on ASOS. It comes in funky looking outer packaging, has a mascara-like wand which I prefer and it contains all of the usual ingredients you find in an eyelash serum but at a fraction of the price of the more well-known ones and it’s also suitable for vegans. I’ve got to say, considering I haven’t been using it consistently every single day (I really need to change that!), I’ve already started to see some improvements as my lashes are looking softer and are already slightly longer. It does say that 'for best results use for 8-12 weeks' so I’ll keep you updated on this one!

Lastly is my most recent beauty purchase which is the
Feather and Down Magnesium Soothing Sleep Butter RRP £8 which I picked up as I’ve been suffering with restless legs and it’s been driving me insane. I’ve had blood tests recently for other things and no deficiencies have flagged up so my magnesium levels must be okay but it got to the point where it was making me jump and even woke me up from my sleep some nights. I don’t know if being run down and having the flu made it kick-off, who knows? So I bought this in desperation and I’ve got to say it definitely helped me. It also smells amazing, just like the original scent range which I’m already a massive fan of. Thankfully the restless legs have settled down now in general but I would highly recommend this if you or someone you know suffers with RLS!

Have you been trying any new products recently? If so, what and how have you got on with them?
