Two New Releases From Dermalogica | Daily Glycolic Cleanser And Biolumin-C Gel Moisturizer

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while then you’ll know that Dermalogica are one of my favourite skincare brands and some of my go-to products are by them, so it’s always exciting to me when I get sent their new releases. In today’s post, I’m going to be talking about how I’ve been getting on with two products I was recently sent to try and whether I would recommend them.

First up is the Daily Glycolic Cleanser RRP £35* which has been created to help renew dull, uneven skin tones and also help to remove buildup caused hey environmental factors. For ingredients, it contains Glycolic Acid as the name suggests which helps to unglue dull dead skin cells and to help to give you radiant skin. It also contains a blend of Calendula Extract which has soothing properties and Jojoba Oil Extract which has nourishing and replenishing properties.

First of all, I think this is a good 2-in-1 kind of product if you’re someone who wants a simple skincare line up because obviously if you have Glycolic Acid in your Cleanser then you don’t really need to apply a Glycolic Toner afterwards (it might actually be too much for your skin as well). I really wish it said what percentage of glycolic acid is present in this cleanser so I know whether it’s the same or similar to the glycolic toner I was previously using or not but I definitely feel like I can see a difference when using this consistently. My skin looks brighter and more even which is exactly what they say to expect from the product and it also smells really nice too which I think is down to the Calendula Extract but I’m not 100% sure. So overall I would recommend this cleanser if you’re looking for a cleanser with active ingredients.

Top: Daily Glycolic Cleanser / Bottom: Biolumin-C Gel Moisturizer

The second product I was sent over is the Biolumin-C Gel Moisturizer RRP £59* which is from the Biolumin-C range which I’m already a big fan of, the serum is a lovely serum and the eye serum is definitely one of the best eye products I’ve used but it is on the pricier side so it’s something I treat myself to here and there.

The Biolumin-C Gel Moisturizer has a lightweight gel texture as the name suggests and has a slight citrusy kind of scent. It has a highly stable Vitamin C complex, enhanced with biotechnology which increases potency for brighter skin and improved barrier function. If you've been reading my blog for a while then you'll know that I tend to sway towards gel moisturisers and lightweight cream moisturisers because of my oily/combination skin type so this one sounded right up my street.

It gives your skin an instant boost and glow without making it look like an oil slick, it just makes your skin look glowy and healthy, even first thing in the morning when my skin usually looks quite dull. I have found that it takes a little longer to sink in than my other gel moisturisers but that might be the Vitamin C within the product working its way into my skin maybe, I'm not too sure. But overall, I do like it, it's great on days when your skin needs an instant pick-me-up first thing in the morning and I can imagine it works really well in correspondence with the rest of the Biolumin-C range. Dermalogica also claim that it can help to improve fine lines and wrinkles, however, I've not seen any difference in that department as I don't have wrinkles and I don't really have fine lines (yet!).
