I wanted to do something a little different so I thought I’d share three drugstore brands which currently have multiple products that I want to try out and why I want to pick them up. I have purchased many products from the brands featured before but I just thought I’d change things up a little and talk about what I’ve currently got my eyes on in a different way.
First up is e.l.f Cosmetics with one of their latest releases which is their Liquid Poreless Putty Primer RRP £10 which I’m guessing is like their TikTok famous Putty Primer but in a squeezy tube. I like that it’s in a squeezy tube as it makes it easier to use and also more hygienic. I’m definitely intrigued because it sounds quite unique. I like a primer that smoothes out and slightly blurs my skin but doesn’t make my already oily skin type feel more oily.
Next is another new product which is their Halo Glow Highlight Beauty Wand in Champagne Campaign RRP £9 which I’m guessing is supposed to be a dupe or very similar to
the Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand highlighters which are stunning but they are quite pricey for the amount of product you get. I’d love to pick up the e.l.f Halo Glow Highlighter just to compare it to the Charlotte Tilbury one as there is a big difference in price.
Lastly from e.l.f is their Squeeze Me Lip Balm in Grape RRP £4 and the reason why I’m interested in trying their lip balm is because I thought the range looks quite similar to Glossier Balm Dot Com which I love. You also don't see Grape flavoured lip balms that often either.
Barry M
Next up is Barry M who are actually one of my favourite drugstore brands. Did you know that they now do skincare? I spotted their Quick Flick Quick Screen SPF 50+ Prep Moisturiser RRP £25 on their insta and thought it looked pretty interesting and I love the packaging! It’s a 4-in-1 SPF, Moisturiser, Primer and Blue Light Defence which is good for people who don’t want to faff around first thing in the morning with multiple products or often forget to apply SPF. However I’ll be honest, I was a little shocked at the £25 price tag. It seems quite high for a Barry M product so I’ll probably wait to see if it goes on sale before picking it up.
Next is the Fresh Face Setting Spray - Fixation RRP £5.99 and again, I love the packaging, it’s simple but cute. I’m definitely going to pick it up soon and see how it fares against my all-time fave Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. It’s got great reviews so I’m even more intrigued. There are also other versions in the range including Matte and Dewy.
Another product from the Fresh Face range is the Face Fresh Illuminating Primer RRP £6.99 as it sounds right up my street. They have a Cool and Warm version and I just love a glowy primer and I think an illuminating primer is a must-have in your makeup bag if you want to achieve a glowy summer makeup look.
NYX
Lastly is Nyx, I was obsessed with Nyx when they first released in the UK. I had so many of the Soft Matte Lip Creams, I lost count, however, I haven’t picked anything up from them for a while.
Their Lip Lingerie XXL Matte Liquid Lipstick in Undressed RRP £9.99 looks like a perfect brown-pink nude shade. I did own a couple of the Lip Lingerie lipsticks years ago as well but I can’t remember what shades I had, however, I remember the formula being long-lasting and pretty comfortable to wear.
I’m in the market for a slightly more hydrating concealer as I’ve noticed matte concealer has started to look a bit hit-and-miss on my under-eye area and my skin isn't dry in that area. Is this a sign of ageing and fine lines forming? If so, it's a little bit depressing. The Bear With Me Concealer Serum RRP £11.49 has some great reviews and I like that the formula is described as a hydrating serum and it contains Cica which I’m a big fan of in skincare products.
Lastly is another lip product which is there This Is Milky Gloss Lip Gloss in Strawberry Horchata RRP £9 which I thought sounded quite interesting. It’s described as a high-shine gloss infused with dairy-free milk. I do like a lip gloss, especially when I feel like my lips need something a little more hydrating. I do wish there were more shades to choose from though.
