I mentioned in my Beauty Wishlist back in April that I wanted to try the Sundae Body Whipped Shower Foam so I picked up the Pomegranate Fizz scent to see what the hype is about. The shower foam has quite a hydrating formula so it’s a nice little self-care treat either for yourself or maybe as a gift for somebody. The brand are cruelty-free and vegan as well which is a plus. However, I wish I had picked up a different scent as I’m not the biggest fan of the Pomegranate Fizz scent, it smells kind of bitter to me, which is a shame as I was hoping for a super fruity scent.
I also picked up the Soap and Glory The Real Zing Body Sorbet because I like a body sorbet moisturiser, especially during the summer as the formula is quite cooling. It also contains AHAs so I was hoping it would work in a similar way to the Ameliorate Transforming Body Lotion which helps to exfoliate your skin and helps with Keratosis Pilaris which I have on my arms. With notes of Lemon, Lime and Neroli, the zesty scent kind of reminds me of Lemsip in a way, I’m still not sure whether I like that or not but it’s definitely refreshing. It’s best to apply it to slightly damp skin after a shower or bath, if you apply it to dry skin, it will just pill up because of the formula. Overall it’s a nice body moisturiser and leaves my skin feeling pretty soft but it doesn’t work as well as the Ameliorate Transforming Body Lotion for the Keratosis Pilaris.
Another product I picked up is the Waken Mouthwash in Spearmint which is alcohol-free, contains 100% natural flavours and contains added fluoride. I struggle with mouthwash, as I find that the typical brands that are stocked in supermarkets, Boots or Superdrug either taste too strong and feel like they’re burning my mouth and/or they stain my teeth. Usually, if I find a type which is milder, it’s either always out of stock or gets discontinued. I’ve been enjoying the Waken Mouthwash so far, the Spearmint flavour is on the milder side and if mint isn’t your cup of tea they also have other flavours available.
I’ve also started to use a Dry Brush again to help to unclog pores, exfoliate and promote lymphatic drainage which helps to get rid of toxins in your body. I feel like my skin looks more even since starting dry brushing again and it feels smoother. Obviously, I’ve been using new products containing AHAs as well so I can’t say for sure which has helped the most but it’s just another little self-care step that I try to do a couple times per week. There’s a lot of good advice on TikTok by specialists covering dry brushing and the correct way to do it such as do it before showering, massaging your lymph nodes first etc.
Next is a bit of a boring one but I thought I’d mention it anyway. I’ve been wearing more hair accessories lately instead of just shoving my hair up in a messy bun. I’ve mostly been wearing hair clips/claws but I’ve also bought a couple of hair bands as well and it makes me feel a bit more put together in a way. The Check Hair Clip from Shein is definitely my favourite as it keeps everything in place really well and it was cheap.
Lastly is the Sainsbury’s Bedtime Infusion Teabags which I picked up on a whim because they contain similar ingredients to the Pukka Night Time Tea but are a couple of pounds cheaper. The Bedtime Infusion tea contains Camomile, Lemon Balm and Valerian Root with Lavender and Rose. However, with the tea containing Valerian Root, it can interact with medications such as antidepressants (just a fyi!). The tea actually tastes very similar to the Pukka Night Time tea, slightly more lavender-y and floral and I actually think it works quicker than Pukka tea especially if I’m already feeling a little sleepy.
I loved reading about your beauty and lifestyle haul, Kirsty! It's great to see that you've been wearing more hair accessories lately.
