PMD Beauty skincare gadgets have had a firm place in my skincare routine for the past couple of years. However, when it comes to owning multiple skincare gadgets, I definitely feel like you end up using some more than others and one of the devices I have stuck to using is the PMD Clean. So I was obviously excited when got the opportunity to try out the latest PMD Clean device, the PMD Clean Acne RRP £209* which is described as a smart facial cleansing device that uses SonicGlow™ Technology ensuring a deep, daily cleanse. The PMD Clean Acne also utilises blue light therapy treatments for mild to moderate acne.

Inside the box, you get the PMD Clean Acne device, a storage case, eye protection goggles, a charging cable and an instruction manual. The device also comes with a 1-year limited warranty.

So, what does the PMD Clean Acne do and how does it work?

The PMD Clean Acne is made from ultra-hygienic silicone which is odour-resistant, antibacterial, hypoallergenic, and waterproof. You also don’t have to worry about replacing the head or anything like that.

Like other PMD Clean devices I’ve tried, the PMD Clean Acne uses SonicGlow Technology which helps to break down dirt and oil from within the pores at 7,000 vibrations per minute while operating at a perfect frequency to lift, firm, and tone the skin. It really helps to make your skin feel deeply cleansed without making it feel irritated or dry.

The cleansing brush side has a simple button to switch it on and 2 modes to choose from which are Mode 1 for Gentle Vibration and Mode 2 for Intense Vibration. I use Mode 1 the most but I do like to use Mode 2 on areas where I have congested skin.

You’ll find the Blue Light Therapy on the other side of the device which has a button to turn it on and it fully activates once it comes into contact with your skin. Blue Light Therapy uses powerful medical-grade LEDs to emit blue light that is used specifically for the treatment of mild to moderate acne. You just have to place the device on each section of acne you want to treat for the full 3 minutes and it will vibrate when it’s finished and then you can move on to the next area (if needed). It’s also safe to use daily.

The PMD Clean works best with a gel cleanser and PMD Beauty have their own skincare range or you can use the skincare products you already own. I’ve been using the Facetheory Freshening Face Wash* which I recently reviewed and it works well with the device.

Overall, it’s a good device and I’ve seen some improvements in my skin. I feel like if I had been more consistent with the Blue Light Therapy, I would have seen more improvements. If you look at the reviews on the website there are a lot of positive reviews saying how it’s changed people's skin for the better which sounds promising. It is quite expensive at £209 but I can understand why as it does offer a medical grade treatment and if you use it daily then you’ll definitely be getting your money’s worth out of it.

One thing I will say is that if you have multiple areas of acne that need treating then it may take a while to treat all of the areas and you do need to be consistent and use it daily or most days to get the best results.
